Dear members of the Lasallian Family,
As we celebrate the most joyous season of the year, let us gather together in the spirit of unity, love, and hope. Christmas, beyond the twinkling lights and festive decorations, carries profound messages that resonate with the essence of who we are as Lasallians.
In the midst of the busyness of our lives, the celebration of Jesus’ birth offers a precious opportunity for reflection and prayer. We are reminded of the timeless message from the Book of Isaiah, “For to us a child is born, to us a son is given, and the government will be on his shoulders. And he will be called Wonderful Counselor, Mighty God, Everlasting Father, Prince of Peace” (Isaiah 9:6).
Jesus, the Prince of Peace, came into the world to bring us salvation and to teach us the ways of love, compassion, and forgiveness. During this holy season, let us unite our hearts in prayer, imploring God to bring peace to our world, especially to those countries marred by conflict, where innocent people are suffering, especially children. Our prayers are powerful, and together, we can be instruments of change.
Remember that the greatest gift we have received is Jesus Himself. He is the embodiment of God’s love for us, and it is through this love that we find purpose and meaning. Just as God selflessly gave His Son to us, let us strive to be gifts to one another. Share your love, kindness, and blessings not only with your families and friends but also with those who are less fortunate and in need.
As the year 2024 comes, let us also be a beacon of hope, a source of warmth, and a testament to the love of Christ. I encourage you to carry the true Lasallian spirit into the world, by demonstrating our commitment to our values of faith, service, and community.
May this Christmas season and the New Year fill your hearts with joy, your lives with love, and your souls with the enduring peace that only Christ can bring. Together, as one Lasallian family, let us make this world a better place, one act of kindness at a time.
Wishing you all a blessed and peaceful Christmas and a Happy New Year!
Yours in Saint John Baptist de La Salle,
Fraternally yours,
Brother Dennis Magbanua
