Lasallian Youth Movement AGM 2010

The AGM of the HKLYM was held on the 6 Nov 2010. During the AGM, Exco members of the last year submitted their annual reports, followed by a talk by Br. John D'Cruz on Lasallian Leadership. Then the Exco of last year carried out the election of the 6 new Exco members, as listed below:

Chairperson: Heywood (CSK)
Vice chairpersons: Kevin(CSK) and Nox (DLS)
Secretary: Jonathan (LSC) and Bryan (CGHC)
Treasurer: Jimmy (LSC)

The new Exco members also finished the second meeting on 14 Nov at LSC. They have outlined their annual plan for the year:

1. Tours to Lasallian schools on their open days or family fun days
2. Camp for F.3 - F4 students in mid May
3. A service programme, details of which will be confirmed at the coming meeting
4. Newsletter of HKLYM, 200 copies for each member school.

Resolutions of sixth meeting of HKLYM - May 15, 2010

Dear Teacher Advisors of HKLYM,

The HKLYM finished their 6th meeting on 15 May 2010, at the canteen of the City University. Some notes here for your reference:

  1. During the meeting, they have made a request to the treasurer from CGHC to submit the official annaul budget to the executive committee.
  2. They followed up the LYM Formation Day with details as follows:
    Aims: To foster a sense of belonging to the Lasallian family/Lasallian Spirit
    Objective: Team building for student leaders of the coming school year.
    Date: 30 Jun 2010
    Time: 10:00 - 17:30
    Venue: La SalleCollege
  3. The annual service project will be postponed to after final examination, probably during the summer holiday. Participants for the above formation day are also the target participants for the service project.
  4. The 7th Exco meeting will be held on the 26 Jun 2010, 10:00 am at La SalleCollege. After the meeting there will be trial run of the formation day.

  1. The treasurer will prepare and present the annual budge on the next meeting.
  2. A team building program for the committee members was held on 24 Jan 2010, from 14:00 - 18:00, at CSK.
    Participants: CGHC (1), CSK (2), LSC (5) and DLS (2)
  3. CBS tour:
    a. Tour to LSC:
    Date: 7 Feb 2010
    Time: 1200 - 1800
    Venue: LSC campus tour and Family Fun Day
    As the open day of St. Joseph's College will be held on the same day, the ExCo members may visit SJC thereafter.
    b. Tour to CGHC:
    May be in form of friend matches among CBSs. Details would be confirmed later.
  4. Long Term Service:
    1st choice: New Arrival Children's Programme
    2nd choice: Yau Tsim Mong District Integrated Service Project for New Arrivals
    Justin (LSC) will contact the center for a site visit before involving in the programme.
  5. Day Camp for junior leaders:
    Date: After final examination
    Target group: F.3 (HKDSE) and F.5 (HKCEE) students who would take part in the HKLYM
    Venue:In one of the CBSs, or a camp site (day camp only)
    Program: Introducing HKLYM, the CBSs, and some team building activities
    No. of participants: about 5 from each school.
  6. Next meeting:
    Date: Monday, 15 Mar 2010 (School holiday of CGHC)
    Time : 4:30 pm (at Sheung Shui station)
    Venue: DLS

- He is currently visiting Hong Kong Lasallian School and is happy to see students coming from different schools to his meeting. He talked about Lasallian Youth Movement and the Preparation of APLYC 7.
- A student asked him how to help others, especially non-Catholics. He answered, "Help him to become a better person. If his is a Muslim, help him to be a better Muslim. If he has no religion, talk to him about his values and help him to treasure those values."
- Another student asked him the way to become a happy person and there were many questions. Bro. Victor answere each and everyone to their satisfaction.

Hong Kong Lasallian Youth Movement Annual General Meeting 2003/11/22

The Annual General Meeting of Hong Kong Lasallian Youth Movement (HKLYM) 2003-2004 was successfully held on 22nd November 2003 in the Computer Room LG101 at La Salle College.

During the meeting, the constitution of HKLYM was carefully studies.

An introduction of the activities of HKLYM was given to the members from the four Lasallian schools. The members gave a brief introduction about themselves.

This was followed by a group dynamic game which showed the importance of communication skill between committee member.

The new HKLYM committee was elected.

Hong Kong Lasallian Youth Movement   2003/01/11

1 Leaders' Training Camp
30-31 December 2002, resort house at Pui O on Lantau Island
Theme: To know more about discrimination and prejudice and to know more about each other.
17 students and 2 teachers from Lasallian Schools joined the camp.
With the help of the HK Catholic Commission for Labour Affairs, participants experienced the feeling of being discriminated and understand more about the problems caused by discrimination.
2 Follow-up function on leaders' camp
Scheduled on 8 February 2003 at La Salle College.
Social workers, together with ¨ô·s¤O¶q and the HKLYM member will participate.
3 Next meeting of HKLYM will be held on 30 January 2003 at CGHC.
4 Community Service
A long term community service for the metally handicaped children is scheduled from March to May.
